Canoga Park, CA— The Odyssey of Judicial Corruption is a searing indictment of a legal system allegedly riddled with malfeasance, penned by Barbara Washington Franklin, a veteran and prominent female trial attorney from Washington, D.C. This powerful exposé chronicles her harrowing 20-year fight against what she describes as deep-seated corruption within the D.C. courts. Franklin pulls back the curtain on an alleged network of judges, FBI agents, and their collaborators who, she claims, operated with impunity, prioritizing personal gain and unchecked authority over the very principles of justice and the rule of law.

At the heart of the narrative is Franklin's personal ordeal. She and her husband, a prominent public servant and former ALA president, were allegedly targeted by a criminal enterprise entrenched in the courts and law enforcement. This conspiracy, as detailed in the book, supposedly defrauded her family of nearly $50 million in attorney's fees, leading to public humiliation, economic ruin, and profound emotional distress.

Despite facing overwhelming injustice, Franklin attributes her endurance and resilience to her unwavering Christian faith and her profound connection with the Holy Spirit. Through her ordeal, she emerged spiritually fortified and even more dedicated to the pursuit of truth and justice.

Barbara Washington Franklin, born in Blakely, Georgia, and raised in Newark, New Jersey, is a distinguished civil trial attorney based in Washington, D.C. The eldest of three children and the only daughter, she was valedictorian of Cleveland Junior High School and an honors graduate of Barringer High School. A devout Christian since childhood, she was mentored spiritually by her paternal grandmother and recognized as a child classical pianist.

As a high school student, Barbara won a global essay competition that earned her a 56-day world tour as a U.S. Youth Goodwill Ambassador, with mentorship from former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. She earned her Juris Doctor from Rutgers University Law School in Newark and is also a graduate of Douglass College, where she studied sociology and psychology. Early in her legal career, she worked in the General and Trial Divisions of the New York City Corporation Counsel and later became Minority Chief Counsel and Staff Director for the U.S. House Committee on the District of Columbia.

Barbara has also worked as a broadcast standards editor for NBC, a Peace Corps volunteer in India, a schoolteacher, and a social worker. She eventually launched her own solo legal practice in Washington, D.C., fulfilling a lifelong dream. A world traveler, mother, grandmother, woman of deep faith, and published author, Barbara continues to reside in Washington, D.C.
